THE HERITAGE, THE CATALOGUES
The modern book heritage
The modern book heritage currently consists of approximately 170.000 volumes. All volumes are available for consultation on-site; a special form is to be filled out and handed in to the staff of the loan and distribution office by any patron wishing to consult a book.
The library heritage available in the reading rooms is located on open shelves and may be freely consulted by patrons.
The antique book heritage
The antique library heritage consists of 95.656 documents including manuscript, incunabula, printed works and antique periodicals.
Consultation of catalogues
All book and non-book materials owned by the Library are adequately catalogued. General and special catalogues are available in the loan and distribution room.
Catalogues may be consulted by patrons in a direct and immediate way. The current catalogue may be consulted by means of PCs available to all library patrons.
The paper catalogue is currently updated to year 1999. Electronic cataloguing was introduced in 1991. The electronic catalogue relating to both modern and antique collections as a whole may be directly consulted on the Internet on www.bibliotecarezzo.it/catalogo.
The catalogue includes approximately 250,000 records.
